Dear RHCC Family,

RHCC is registered with AmazonSmile and would love for you to use this tool when you shop online. AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support Rolling Hills Community Church every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to RHCC. (We are listed as Rolling Hills Community Church, Lago Vista, TX)

How do I shop at AmazonSmile?

To shop at AmazonSmile simply go to smile.amazon.com from the web browser on your computer or mobile device. You may also want to add a bookmark to make it even easier to return and start your shopping.

How do I select a charitable organization to support when shopping on AmazonSmile?

There are two methods to shop.

On your first visit to AmazonSmile, you need to select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at AmazonSmile will result in a donation. When you search for an organization, type in “Rolling Hills Community Church” (those words in that order) and then click select by the one listed in "Lago Vista TX"!

Which products on AmazonSmile are eligible for charitable donations?

Tens of millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages. Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible.

Can I use my existing Amazon.com account on AmazonSmile?

Yes, you use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry, and other account settings are also the same.

Try it today! And please share this information with your family and friends. Click here to get started!

Tropical Depression Imelda - Update and How You Can Help

For complete information on how to help, click here.

Here's a high level report of what is happening and how we are responding:

The flooding has had a delaying impact. These initial days of response have taken longer than anticipated to recover from as water rescues, road closures, and water levels rising, continued through the weekend. Key church leaders and community leaders have been focused on the primary needs of providing meals, getting families into local shelters, and distribution of supplies. The impact has been widespread, affecting at least 4 counties: Jefferson (Beaumont), Hardin, Orange and Chambers. There are 1,066 homes affected within the Beaumont area alone, but we expect that number to rise and it doesn't yet include smaller cities like Winnie which were severely impacted. We anticipate affected homes will be in the thousands.

Here's how people can help now and how we expect to be mobilizing in the next few days.

Supplies Distribution: We are collecting Care Kits and Clean Up Kits to send to these affected areas. Click on the links above to see the lists. The drop off location is our Hope Family Thrift Store between 10:00AM and 5:30PM, Mon-Sat.

Clean Up: There will be a significant need for clean up, and we expect that need to continue over the next several weeks. We are planning to work through an organization we have mobilized through in the past, but are waiting to secure housing and food for volunteers. We hope to send you detailed information later this week.

Emotional / Spiritual Care Teams: The emotional need is great. We can only imagine the feeling of hopelessness and despair that could be gripping the hearts of many who just finished recovering from Harvey. We are preparing to mobilize ADRN Trained volunteers (both CISM Trained and Basic Trained) into the Beaumont Area by either mid or late this week. The timing will depend on local leaders identifying Multi Agency Resource Centers, which we are currently discussing with them.

Give: Individuals, the Church and the community in Greater Austin can give to help meet the needs. We expect to give away at least $100,000 in helping meet initial emergency financial needs through the emotional care trained volunteer teams. We are believing the Lord bring forth much more for the longer term needs of these communities. So far, approximately $5,000 has been raised. People can give at adrn.org/give.

Pray: Believe with us for breakthrough. These communities need help from on high. Father, give strength and wisdom to local leaders. Infuse hope, by the power of Your Spirit, to every heart overwhelmed with discouragement. Bring forth the resources these communities and families need, and unite Your Church in these areas like never before, to shine forth Your light!
